Threads of Return explores cultural memory and the idea of return through the interconnected languages of Tatreez, Arabic calligraphy, and the key. A green atmospheric ground evokes the presence of land, while layered Tatreez-inspired patterns and gold Arabic letters create a visual field where cultural memory exists between visibility and erasure. At the center, an embroidered key projects from the diamond-shaped canvas, becoming both a symbol of return and a physical carrier of memory. Through the repetition of patterns, language, and symbolic objects, the work considers how cultural identity can be preserved and carried across distance.
