< Tree of Life >

Tree of Life is a multi-panel installation representing six Palestinian cities: Hebron, Haifa, Jaffa, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and Gaza. Each wooden canvas contains fragments of architecture, food, plants, animals, and cultural symbols associated with the city, forming a fragmented portrait of Palestine. Although separated into individual panels, the works are visually connected through string art based on regional Tatreez patterns, arranged together in the form of the Tree of Life.

Thread is stretched between nails hammered into the wooden surfaces, transforming embroidery into a structure of tension and resistance. The nails create points of pressure, while the threads connect the fragments into a larger network. Through this relationship, the work reflects on cultural continuity, belonging, and the reconstruction of identity through dispersed memories. Rather than depicting Palestine as an intact whole, Tree of Life presents it as something continuously rebuilt, fragment by fragment, line by line.
